Lauren Owen is an NYC student filmmaker who manipulates visuals and sounds to create an experience for viewers. Originally from California, she grew up with broad interests that often seemed to conflict with each other: theater, business, chemistry, soccer, graphic design, criminal justice, film, music. She has combined her many interests into the all-encompassing medium of film while still exploring how other subjects can be represented within the field. As a Fordham University rising junior studying design, music, and creative writing, her work takes many different approaches to make something worth watching. Her background in theater means she understands the actor’s process and her musical history means she greatly recognizes the importance of sound for emotion in film.
